Description: Could visualising a shot actually help your child shoot it? Visualisation is the process of mentally rehearsing an experience before it happens, including the movement, environment, emotions and desired outcome. And there’s fascinating science behind why it can work. Mental rehearsal can activate some of the same brain areas involved in physical performance, while repeated imagery can help reinforce and refine the neural pathways associated with a particular skill. It works alongside physical practice to support learning and performance. In this Sports Psychology workshop, tetrathletes will explore the science behind visualisation and learn how to apply it specifically to shooting, developing practical visualisation routines they can use in training and during competition. A valuable opportunity to give young athletes another tool to support focus, confidence, consistency and performance. This workshop is for Mini/Junior/Intermediate/Open Tri/Tetrathletes Coaches: Amelia Collins. Amelia Collins is a Sport Psychologist (SEPiT) and performance coach working across high-performance sport, supporting athletes, coaches and multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable performance within complex sporting environments. Her work spans grassroot through to elite performance, including athletes competing at national and international level, as well as those representing their country. She also works closely with coaches operating within high-performance and international sport environments. Matt Rees. PC RCO
